What Anemia Symptoms? Iron Deficiency? Read on!

I have an aunt who has long passed away due to leukemia disease. I never met her but I only just see her picture. Okay let's read this article. This article is not about leukemia, but it is about  anemia :)

What Is The Meaning of Anemia ?
The consequences of anemia are red blood cells transport will be disrupted and the body tissues anemia patients will suffer from a lack of oxygen in order to produce energy. So do not be surprised if the symptoms of anemia are shown with a quick feel tired, pale, agitated, and sometimes crowded, and marked with pale color in some parts of the body such as the tongue and eyelids.

The Effect of Anemia

Blood is composed of plasma and cells. There are three types of blood cells:
-White blood cells (leukocytes). These blood cells are useful to fight infection.

-Platelets / platelet. These blood cells help the blood clot when injured.

-White blood cells (erythrocytes). The red blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs through the bloodstream to the brain and other organs and tissues.

The body requires a supply of oxygen to function. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin which is a protein that is rich in iron which gave a red color. Many blood cells are produced by bone marrow. To be able to produce red blood cells and hemoglobin, your body needs iron, minerals, protein and other vitamins from the foods you eat.

Risk Factors for Anemia

Some factors that may increase the chances of anemia include:
-Low intake of nutrients in food .
-Health disorders of the small intestine or operations related to the small intestine
-Menstruation
-Pregnancy
-Chronic conditions such as cancer , kidney failure or liver failure
-Heredity

Certain infections such as blood disorders and autoimmune, exposed to toxic chemicals, and the use of some drugs that affect the production of red blood cells and cause anemia. Another is the risk of diabetes, alcohol and people who become strict vegetarians and less intake of iron or vitamin B - 12 in food.

Symptoms of Anemia

Here are some signs that show that you have anemia :
1. Eyelid Pale
It is easy to detect anemia with seeing eyes. When you stretch the eyelids and under the eyes attention. You will notice that the inside of the eyelids pale.

2 . Fatigue often
If you feel tired all the time for a month or more , it could be that you have a number of red blood cells is low. Body's energy supply is very dependent on the oxidation and red blood cells The lower the red blood cells, the level of oxidation in the body part is reduced.

3. Frequent Nausea
Those who are anemic often experience symptoms morning sickness or nausea as soon as they get up from bed

4. Headache
People who are anemic often complain of headaches constantly. Shortage of red blood makes the brain is deprived of oxygen. This often causes headaches.

5. Pale Fingertips
When you press the tip of the finger , the area will turn into red. But, if you have anemia, your fingertips will be a white or pale.

6. Shortness of Breath
Low blood counts lowers oxygen levels in the body. This makes people with anemia often feel shortness of breath or frequent panting when doing everyday activities such as walking.

7. Irregular Heartbeat
Palpitations is the medical term for irregular heartbeat, too strong or has abnormal speed. When the body is deprived of oxygen, the heart rate increases. This causes the heart to beat irregularly and rapidly.

8. Pale Face
If you have anemia, your face will look pale. The skin will also be a yellowish white.

9. Hair Loss
Hair loss can be a symptom of anemia. When the scalp is not getting enough food from the body, you will experience hair thinning rapidly.

10. Decreased Immune
When your body has very little energy, immunity, or the body's ability to fight disease go down. You will easily fall sick or exhausted.

Factor of Anemia
Anemia occurs when the body produces too few red blood cells, loses too many red blood cells or red blood cells more lethal than replace it. Some types of anemia and their causes are :

Iron Deficiency Anemia
The cause of this type of anemia is iron deficiency in the body. The bone marrow needs iron to make hemoglobin. Without enough iron, the body will not produce enough hemoglobin for red blood cells.

Vitamin Deficiency Anemia
In addition to iron, the body also requires folate and vitamin B - 12 to produce enough red blood cells. Low dietary intake of these substances and other essential nutrients can cause a decrease in red blood cell production. In addition, some people can not effectively absorb vitamin B - 12.

Anemia of Chronic Disease
Certain chronic diseases, such as cancer and HIV / AIDS. Can affect the production of red blood cells, resulting in chronic anemia. Kidney failure can also cause anemia.

Aplastic Anemia
This type is very rare and life-threatening conditions. This is due to the reduced ability of bone marrow to produce all three types of blood cells. The cause is unknown.

Anemia Associated With Bone Marrow Disease
Conditions such as leukemia and myelodysplasia can lead to anemia which causes the production of blood in the spinal cord is reduced.

Hemolytic Anemia
It occurs when the red blood cells disintegrate faster and spinal cord are not able to keep up with the replacement of red blood cells. Certain diseases such as disorders of the blood may be a cause. As well as autoimmune disorders of the body can cause the body to produce antibodies to red blood cells that destroy red blood cellS.

Sickle Cell Anemia
This type of anemia caused by a defect form of hemoglobin that makes red blood cells are formed like a sickle. The red blood cells die prematurely and cause chronic conditions lack of red blood cells.

Another anemia
This type of anemia is different from the others, such as thalassemia and anemia caused by a defect of hemoglobin.

Information of Anemia
Anemia is detected through a blood test when the level of hemoglobin (Hb) in red blood cells less than 11g.

To determine the level of severe anemia or not:
Hb level (g / dl) - The level of anemia
<6.9 - Very bad
6.9 <8.0 - Poor
8.0 <9.5 - Medium
9.5 -10.5 - Lightweight

Common Type of Anemia Are:
-Anemia due to iron deficiency.
-Thalassaemia
-Signs and symptoms
-Many teenagers suffer from anemia and don't know why.

Treatment of Anemia
Hemoglobin examination to determine whether you have anemia or can not be done in a clinic near you. Treatment of anemia depends on the type of anemia encountered. If it is caused by medical problems such as thalassemia, leukemia, specific treatment should be done. If it is due to iron deficiency, then it should take balanced diet which contains high iron and iron supplement pills.

Other tips: For the treatment of iron deficiency:
Advised to take extra iron tablets with vitamin C to help the absorption of iron. The main causes like infection and inflammation of the intestinal worms need to be treated.
