What Is a Gut?
Intestine is the longest organ in the digestive system. It has two parts:

-The small intestine is absorbed food places
-The large intestine, where water and salt absorbed

There are two parts in the large intestine of the colon and rectum.

What is Colon Cancer?
Colon cancer is a cancerous tumor that usually begins in the lining of the large intestine. It can grow old there before spreading to other parts of the body. Therefore, the earlier the cancer is detected the better the chance for cure. Chances of survival were 90 %, if the disease is detected at an early stage. Colorectal cancer is a term referring to cancer that begins in the gut (180 centimeters or six feet first large intestine). This is where our food turned out to be shit and it will be geared towards the rectum . The rectum is part of 15 centimeters or six inches of the large intestine that ends with the anus. Colon and rectum are part of the digestive system working to isolate nutrients from food and store waste until it is removed from the body as feces.

The Exact Cause of Colon Cancer
The exact cause of colorectal cancer is still not precisely known, but it is related to dietary habits and lifestyle. Colon cancer is abnormal cell growth and uncontrolled in colon or rectal malignant cells that live in the intestinal wall (or rectum), which began with the formation of polyps (small lumps), growing into tumors and eventually turn to cancer. This process takes many years and do not show obvious symptoms until it gets worse.

The Symptoms of Colon Cancer
Not all colon cancer show no signs or symptoms of early , but you should see your doctor if you experience any of the following:

-Out of the blood or blood anus after defecation.
-Significant changes in bowel habits:
for example, more frequent stools or liquid stools, frequent constipation and / or feeling to urinate more often larger than normal.
-Feeling satisfied after a bowel movement
-Abdominal pain
-Weight loss with no apparent reason.
-Feeling tired, weak or short of breath for no reason. These symptoms may be caused by iron deficiency anemia.
-This type of anemia can be caused by colon cancer
-Individuals over the age of forty years on the need to be aware of the warning signs of colon cancer. If you have one of the symptoms of bowel cancer above, see your doctor who will refer you to carry out some specific tests. If the test shows the presence of colon cancer, early treatment is better.

Risk Factors
There are many risk factors can expose a person to the disease such as :
- Age
Those aged 50 and over are more at risk and more than 90 percent of colon cancer cases in the country involving seniors. The presence of polyps in the colon. Most colon cancer starts with polyps. Small tumors that are not cancer grows on the wall of the large intestine. Some types of polyps can turn into cancer.

-Early detection allows polyps are removed and may prevent the growth of cancer cells.

- The history of the family. Individuals who have a family member of bowel cancer are more at risk for getting the disease than others.

-Self - History has cancer
Women who have had other cancers such as breast, ovarian or uterine risk of colon cancer.

- Nutrition
A diet high in fat, lots of meat and too little fiber are the main factors that increase the risk of bowel cancer

-Smoking
Apart from being the cause of many types of cancer, cigarette smoke can increase the risk of polyp growth. Research shows smokers have a risk of 30 to 40 percent of colon cancer than non-smokers

- Obesity
Obese individuals at high risk of bowel cancer (colon cancer)

- Alcohol
Some researchers say too much alcohol can increase the risk of bowel cancer

- Lack of exercise
You much do exercises at least once a week. Or maybe jogging in a day

Screening and Detection
The diagnosis of cancer can come suddenly without any warning signs and because it is usually considered 'fatal', many patients suffering from emotional disorders when diagnosed with the disease. Cancer is a disease that can weaken a person both physically and emotionally. Most patients accept the diagnosis of cancer, feeling sad, surprised, disappointed and worried. Some also feel angry and very frustrated because they could not accept the fact they have cancer. Actually bowel cancer patients have a high chance of cure, to 90 %, if the disease is detected early (in the first) and the opportunity to decline to 60 to 80 percent if the cancer treatment during the second stage. But in most cases, patients delayed seeking treatment. Committee of the American Coalition for identification stage bowel cancer reported , most patients ( 30 to 40 percent ) see a doctor when they are at the third stage cancer and 20 to 25 percent when the disease severity ( stage four ). Delay in seeking treatment into the causes of bowel cancer deaths among Asian communities, including in our country . If you look at survival chances in the last five years, the percentage drops dramatically from 30 to 60 percent ( third level ) to less than five percent for the fourth stage.

The reason once diagnosed with cancer , do not delay seeking treatment at the hospital. The sooner you get treatment, the higher the chance to heal and for serious cases, treatment can prolong your life between 26 to 29 months. Some may say, what should bother to seek treatment if only to prolong the shelf life of several months. That's the opinion of the healthy but for the patient, it is very important because in this period they can do many things like spending quality time with loved ones. The most effective way to reduce the risk of colon cancer is to undergo a screening test, especially for individuals aged 50 years and above who have a history of cancer or other inflammatory bowel disease. Early detection and removal of polyps before they turn into cancer is the best way to prevent the disease. Bowel cancer screening involves testing for individuals who do not have symptoms of bowel cancer . Screening using fecal occult blood test ( FOBT ) or fecal blood test okulta recommended for healthy individuals aged fifty and over.

A Fecal Occult Blood Test ( FOBT )
FOBT is a simple test to identify early signs of bowel cancer. This test involves taking a sample of stool or feces by using a test kit. Samples taken at home and subsequently sent to a laboratory for analysis. FOBT will determine if there is blood in the stool ( blood that is not visible to the naked eye ). Blood in the stool can be caused by polyps ( growths inside the colon that can turn into cancer ) or because of a bleeding colon cancer. If there is blood in the stool , further tests should be conducted to identify the source of bleeding . Remember that colon cancer has a high chance ( 90 % ) to be cured if detected early. Polyps detected by FOBT can be removed before turning into cancer.

Where Can I get FOBT?
Men and women aged fifty and over should see a doctor to undergo FOBT every two years. To reduce the risk of getting cancer is practice a healthy lifestyle such as:

-Eat nutritious foods, including taking more vegetables and fruits and reduce the intake of animal fat.
-Maintain a normal weight
-Increase physical activity
-Exercise regularly
-No smoking
-Reduced drinking alcohol

By following the guidance does not mean you'll miss out bowel cancer, but it can reduce your risk and also provides many other health benefits.
