Definition of river pollution
There is a wide range of pollutants that occur on earth. Pollution is a condition in which there is removal of objects or materials that result from human activities into the environment causing impaired comfort or survival of life on this earth. Among the types of pollution is water pollution. Water pollution occurs when there are changes in the water content in the content, appearance and color so it is not suitable and will have an impact on humans when used. This contamination occurs either in terms of biology, chemistry and physics. Pollutants can be found in various forms of gas, liquid and solid. Thus, contamination can occur in places like lakes, rivers, seas and so on.
Initial cause of river pollution
Among the factors that contribute to water pollution is immoral human behavior. One of the human attitudes that lead to water pollution is garbage and sewage into the rivers and lakes in an uncontrolled manner. Among the types of rubbish that is intended rubbish from urban areas and residential population, industry and agriculture. Some examples of agricultural activities carried out by farmers who cause water pollution is the dumping of agricultural residues by farmers into the river between agricultural waste are examples of twigs, manure, dead grass and trees waste timber that is not needed into the river.
Pollution from industrial sector was due to removal of toxic waste by factories that are not accountable to the river. Some examples of waste from the industrial sector is in chemicals, toxic waste, heavy metals, oil and others. Toxic waste disposal will result in the death of aquatic life such as shrimp, clams, fish and so on.
Besides destruction activities on the environment can also lead to serious water pollution such as the felling of trees of forest for a specific purpose such as to export logs , opening new settlements for human habitation, and also set up factories. This will indirectly cause water pollution because the water source close to the area will be contaminated as a result of discharge of waste waters from these factories and waste feed and faeces and rubbish removed by the residents of the dwelling. This would certainly have an impact on water pollution .

Among other factors that cause river pollution is acid rain. Acid rain containing sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. Acid rain which fell into the water source can kill aquatic life such as fish, shrimp and others. Acid rain is actually related to air pollution, air pollution also occurs is a result of car exhaust fumes, smoke released during the burning in an open and result from release of gases from the plant into the air, resulting in acid rain occurs. This means that pollution is intertwined with each other so we need to prevent contamination from occurring.
Natural factors of pollution
There are also natural factors that contribute to water pollution such as volcanic eruptions, storms or hurricanes and earthquakes. When this happens, the indirect water quality in the river, and lake water affected. For example tsunami hit Indonesia in the past has resulted in severe water pollution, especially in the sea.
Effects of river pollution
1 . The effects of water pollution poses many problems for living things in the world today, including man himself. Materials being dumped into the river will cause the death of aquatic life when they eat poisonous substances from the water source was polluted. Humans also get a serious disease if taking the aquatic food sources. In addition , people will get sick if drank water full of contaminants such as mud, sand and fine gravel, steel, industrial wastes, heavy metals, pesticides, bacteria, viruses, and haloform .
2 . Water pollution is also a very serious problem in third world countries that millions of people get drinking water from areas contaminated with human waste itself. Such contamination is said to cause more than three million deaths each year due to diarrhea, mostly children.
3 . Besides water pollution is also a cause of the flooding that occurred in the world currently . Frequent floods occur due to blocked drains should drain water into the sea. Due to the removal of garbage into the river causing debris clogging the water flow . Apart from the water also affects the beauty of nature. The beaches are filled with garbage and dirty water grate and beautiful to look at as a result of littering the ocean. Some mills will provide an area for waste disposal plant. But, when there is heavy rainfall or plant burst, this waste will leak out and cause two problems, namely, the first is that if this waste flow at the surface, then it will flow in the drainage system drains and rivers. The second problem is that if this waste flow into the underground system that will result in contaminated groundwater systems.
How to prevent river pollution
a) Provide underground reservoir tank being treated.
To overcome the problem of domestic waste water that is not released directly into the drainage system shall be provided underground sump tank and treated using biotechnology. In fact, the government should allocate a sum of money so that drainage from residential areas, especially industrial areas and also food store operators have built a special pipeline to prevent water waste can be collected in retention ponds before being discharged into the drainage system.
b) Increase the number of bins in the waste collection center.
Survey also found that poor waste management not only at school but also the municipalities resulting scattered debris everywhere. Therefore, school level management placement should be considered trash. Bins should be added in strategic places as garbage collection so that garbage does not overflow.
c) Installation of litter traps.
To overcome debris flowed by water through the drain, it is necessary to install litter traps at strategic points along the main drain to trap debris also facilitate maintenance management.
d) Maintenance of the drainage system regularly.
To ensure that no debris causing clogging of the drainage system of regular maintenance should be carried out of 1 or 2 times a month. In this way, the debris will not cause water restrictions thus do not waste released into the main drainage system in the river.
e) Awareness campaign through TV commercials.
To overcome the attitude most people to be 'I DON'T CARE' needs to be addressed. There are various causes that lead to water pollution. Therefore to ensure that contamination can be overcome all such governments, NGOs, the private and the public should participate equally in the care for the environment together. The environment is infinite awards should be preserved so that its legacy will remain for future generations.Everyone want to save this earth from pollution right ? Thus, who don't want clean river and environment free from pollution ? Some people don't care about our environment but they also want the best for our earth! :)

Very well written and informational, it's a shame to see so many beautiful rivers and creeks polluted. I wish more people would try to not ruin our environment most people do not realize that it actually ruins us because we depend so much on the things.
